Contract Manager (Arboriculture & Landscaping)

Location: Based at our Redditch depot

Salary: £43,000-£45,000

Contract type: Full-time, permanent

Working hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to lead and oversee our arboricultural operations in the Redditch area. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious arborist ready to step into a management role or for an established manager seeking a fresh challenge in a dynamic environment. In this role, you will ensure the successful delivery of current contracts, focusing on quality, safety, and financial performance, while driving business growth and cultivating client relationships in both public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Management: Lead a team of six arborists and support staff, ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery across all projects.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, control expenses, and monitor contract performance to meet profitability targets.
  • Compliance and Safety: Maintain and enforce the highest standards of safety and arboricultural regulations across all operations. This includes regular audits and adherence to best practices to safeguard the team and clients.
  • Client and Business Development: Build and strengthen client relationships through responsive communication and reliable service, identifying and capitalising on opportunities to expand services in both existing and new markets.

Requirements

  • Proven background in arborist operations, with strong compliance and safety knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience in tree planting, weed treatment, stump grinding, and pricing work is highly advantageous to manage and oversee field activities effectively.
  • A strong understanding of project cost estimations is required to ensure projects are accurately scoped and delivered within budget.
  • Experience building client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Leadership Ambition: Ideal for technical experts looking to transition into a management role.
