A well-established, family-owned SME is seeking a dedicated Welding Site Manager to lead and oversee a team of experienced welder/fabricators on-site. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on welding and fabrication work with leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for a motivated professional looking to grow within a reputable company.

The Role:
This role is approximately 90% hands-on, with 10% focused on management and leadership, allowing you to bring both technical expertise and supervisory skills to the team. Youll drive workplace organisation, maintain production continuity, and foster a positive and productive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Oversee a small team of welder/fabricators, motivating and guiding them to meet daily objectives.
  • Operational Management: Conduct daily start-up meetings to address any Safety, Quality, or Delivery issues, and resolve queries related to documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring a well-organised, clean, and compliant worksite.
  • Resource Management: Manage consumables, including gas, wire, and other essentials, to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Policy Compliance: Enforce company policies, address non-compliance, and conduct investigations or disciplinary meetings as needed.
Skills and Experience:
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in welding and fabrication, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Leadership Ability: Strong problem-solving skills and a proven track record of effectively leading teams.
  • Communication: Clear, effective communicator who can motivate and engage team members.
  • Organisational Skills: Adept at prioritising workloads and managing resources for optimal efficiency.
