Service Engineer - Tower Crane Hire
Bromsgrove / Redditch, UK (Nationwide Travel Required)

Alecto Recruitment is working with their client looking for an experienced Service Engineer based in Redditch, willing to travel nationwide. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of our tower crane fleet across construction sites in the UK. The role involves both routine servicing and addressing breakdowns, as well as performing slinging tasks and working closely with a team of engineers.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills with training opportunities, including factory training in France, and career progression into lifting supervision.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Dismantling: Travel to construction sites across the UK to install and dismantle tower cranes.
  • Servicing & Maintenance: Attend to routine service checks and respond to breakdowns to ensure crane fleet reliability.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other engineers and technicians on-site for safe and efficient operations.
  • Slinging: Perform slinging and lifting duties as part of the crane assembly and disassembly process.
  • Safety: Work at heights, adhering to all safety standards and regulations.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Willingness to work at height as part of crane installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience as a plant mechanic or in a similar technical field.
  • Slinger / signaller training or certification.
  • Previous exposure to tower cranes or heavy machinery is a plus.
