SF Recruitment are working with a global manufacturing company based in Redditch, to recruit a manager to lead & oversee all warehouse operations on site.  The role would suit a seasoned manager who has experience leading large warehouse teams & supervisors, as well as bringing about efficiencies via lean & layout improvements. Manufacturing experience desirable but not essential. Generous benefits package. 

Job Description

Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures. Risk Assessments are in place and there is a requirement to keep these up to date.

Create and implement best practice principles in line with working policies and procedures for warehouse activities and ensure all systems are up to date, to meet the standards for accreditation in line with the quality systems which are followed by the team.

  • Manage any internal and external audits linked to the warehouse.
  • Maintain a high 5S standard of warehouse and yard.
  • Management of all employees within the department.
  • Developing the skills and competencies of all warehouse staff members enabling a flexible workforce.
  • Flagging up any component shortages coming up and also any overstock components to the Logistics Team.
  • Packaging and despatch of finished goods to meet Customer Specific Requirements.
  • Responsible for management of transferring and transporting all materials to designated locations between and within all user departments.
  • Achieve stock accuracy by doing perpetual inventory and quarterly stocktakes.
  • Maintain FIFO on components, raw material and finished goods.
  • Managing the collections of recyclable waste streams in place.
  • Collating and submitting packaging data every 6 months.
  • Approving all transport invoices and submitting monthly report.
  • Managing the following KPI’s – External warehouse stock and costs, transport costs, LPA Audits, Racking Inspections.
  • Manage offsite storage and pallet transfer when additional Warehouse capacity is required.
  • Attending internal meetings, eg. change management, project meetings, stock builds, etc.
  • Prepare annual budget and control and track departmental financial spend.
  • Lead continuous improvement opportunities to reduce waste.
  • Any other duties or tasks requested by the Company. 

General / Generic skills and experience:

  • Previous warehouse management experience essential.
  • HSE - Safe Working Environment, Health & Safety At Work Act 1974.
  • Manage compliance to ISO450001, including completion of Risk Assessments, safe systems of work, near miss incidents investigation.
  • Ensure compliance to the QMS ~ IATF standard with procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure RTITB Compliance with FLT Licences & Arrange Refresher Training to RTITB Standards.
  • Ensure SEMA Compliance with annual SARI Racking Inspection and weekly ACOP Racking Inspections.
  • Previous system experience in maintaining accurate stocks.
  • Previous dealings with suppliers, transport and customers.
  • Experience of managing financial spend and budgets.
  • Understanding of 5S
  • Management and accuracy of inventory systems required.

Specific skills and experience to role:

  • A logical approach to problem solving with an ability to work well under pressure.
  • High level of proficient written and verbal communication with all levels within the Company.
  • Experienced and confident in liaising internally and externally.
  • Must be organised, efficient and regimented.
  • General managerial skills essential
  • Project work experience advantageous.
