Position Overview:

A critical component manufacturing operation is seeking an experiencedSenior Plannerto join its established planning and supply chain team. This role is vital to the optimization of production planning, load capacity management, and workforce resource planning across multiple complex operational functions. Reporting directly to the Head of Planning, theSenior Plannerwill be responsible for ensuring seamless coordination between production capabilities and strategic business objectives.

The Senior Planner will also play a key role in developing the foundation for a futureSales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP)function, establishing scalable processes to support the company's continued growth. This position requires an individual capable of managing high levels of complexity while driving process improvements and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources, materials, and machinery to meet demand and delivery deadlines, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee capacity and load planning, create capacity models, and optimize resource utilization to address bottlenecks and improve overall production efficiency.
  • Lead workforce resource planning to ensure appropriate staffing levels, collaborating with HR to forecast labour needs based on current production demands and future growth.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of a foundational Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP)system, building scalable processes to support long-term growth and operational efficiency.
  • Track key performance metrics, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and implement data-driven strategies to improve operational planning, forecasting, and overall productivity.
  • Collaborate with the broader planning and supply chain team, ensuring alignment across departments, and mentor junior planners to drive continuous improvement and operational success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant of experience in complex, multi-process production planning, load capacity management, and workforce resource planning within a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in operational and capacity planning, workforce optimization, and the development of long-term strategic processes.
  • Experience in the design or implementation of SIOP, S&OP, or similar integrated planning systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to manage complexity and forecast operational needs.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced planning tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems EFACS would be advantageous).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments and within a larger planning team.
