My client is a leading Midlands based Engineering training provider which specialises in apprentice training and commercial courses. They are looking to expand their portfolio of technical delivery to industry and are now seeking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technical Trainer / Assessor with Fluid power expertise. Industry specialists with a passion for mentoring and training are encouraged to apply! 

Role Details:

As a Mechanical Maintenance Trainer/ Assessor,  the overall responsibiliy will involve the delivery of training and assessment to learners of all ages in core maintenance skills.  As well as teaching apprentices, there will be an element of course delivery to current engineers, so relevant recent industry experience is essential to enable credibility with this group as 80% will be practical delivery within the workshop. 

They are more than happy to take someone from industry and upskill them with the required qualifications, starting salary for all candidates will be the same.

Salary and Benefits:

An initial annual salary of £41,000 is offered to the successful candidate (rising to £43,500 after a successful probation), together with 25 days annual holiday, plus 8 statutory days, pension and private medical insurance.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 36 hours

The minimum requirements are : 

  • Apprentice trained with 3 - 5 years industry experience
  • Level 3 qualification in Engineering / Manufacturing (EAL; C&G; NVQ; BTEC; HNC)
  • Current practical skills in Fitting / Assembly , Preventative Maintenance, Pneumatics / Electro pneumatics, Fitting / Assembly, Basic Electrical knowledge, Basic Machining
  • Driving licence
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who is proactive and organised
  • Develop and present training material
  • Produce reports
  • Monitor candidate performance
  • Experience of working to a QA system
