Job descriptionWe have partnered with Stuart Turner who are on a mission to change how they power water, as a Design Engineer in the group, you will be a crucial member of a growing R&D team tasked with delivering the next generation of water movement technology. You will work closely with other engineers, operations and commercial teams to create and develop new and improve existing products and deliver them into production.Senior Design EngineerPermanent PositionHybrid WorkingASAP StartRedditchSenior Design EngineerThe Design Engineer will have the following responsibilities:   
  • Be the technical leader on mechanical design work packages and projects
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end product development process, ensuring the delivery of highquality, market-leading products, within the agreed timescales.
  • Champion the product development lifecycle, including concept ideation, prototyping, testing,  and commercialisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product design, functionality, to ensure products remain competitive and meet evolving market demand.
  • Apply understanding & experience of high-volume manufacturing processes and materials to optimize designs (Injection Mouldings, Forgings, Castings, Blow Mouldings).
  • Create, manage and maintain design documentation in line with business QMS, and regional compliance requirements.
  • Resolve product designs for mass manufacture with consideration for Design for Manufacture, tolerance and real-world application.
Senior Design EngineerThe Design Engineer will require the following experience:
  • A degree in Mechanical Design Engineering, Product Design or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in the design of systems from original concept design, produced from a specification, through to production in a lead role.
  • Practical experience of 3D CAD and PDM systems (Preferably SolidWorks).
  • Experience designing parts and assemblies for mass manufacture.
  • Have a practical understanding of the application of machining, casting, fabrication and moulding techniques.
