An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Cover Supervisor (CS) to join an alternative schooling and Residential Provision in Redditch. This setting supports children and young people aged 11-17 with a range of special educational needs, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Attachment Disorder, and complex behavioural challenges.

Cover Supervisor (CS) Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher, support staff, and multi-agency teams in devising learning and care plans.
  • Encourage students to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Implement clear boundaries and manage behavioural triggers effectively.
  • Assist in writing reports, risk assessments, and educational plans.

Cover Supervisor (CS) Requirements:

  • Experience working with challenging behaviour in an education, secure, residential, or support setting.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent (graduates encouraged to apply).
  • Background in SEN provisions, youth/community services, social work, residential support, ex-military, police, prison, security services, or mental health support.
  • Ideally trained in Team Teach, MAPA, NAPPI, or PILLARS (desirable but not essential).
  • Possesses experience and expertise in drafting reports, conducting risk assessments, and developing educational plans.
  • Ability to provide a full career history and two referees.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
