Thermex Ltd is an established and expanding West Midlands SME, who is a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of air and liquid cooled heat exchangers, with an international client base.
Due to continued business growth an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, part-time tool maker to join the business.
Initially on a 6 month contract, working 16 hours per week (times and days to be agreed at interview).
Requirements and skills
- Works from drawings, specifications and diagrams, patterns.
- Checks work using precision manual inspection instruments and devices
- May provide technical guidance to other personnel
- Willingness to stand in and cover for CNC operations
- Set up and operate all toolroom machines (including lathes and milling machines)
- Make minor repairs to machines as instructed by supervisor
- Plan and construct intricate tools, fixtures, and gauges to close tolerances
- Perform work in a safe manner, keeping tool room equipment clean and in safeworking condition
- Works on own initiative.
Qualifications
- Demonstratable technical aptitude is required for this position.
- Must have the flexibility to change work schedule to support break downs, drop-in jobs.
- Apprentice trained.
- 10 Years minimum experience
Salary: c£14.50 per hour depending on experience
Hours: 16 hours per week (hours/days to be discussed and agreed)
Contract: Temporary, 6 month rolling
Holidays: 25 days per annum (pro rata for hours worked) of which a certain number must be kept for the Christmas shutdown).
Pension: After 3 months service
