We have a machine operative role available within DS Smith’s packaging site. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment and who has the willingness to work flexible shifts.  

Job Title: Machine Operative

Location: DS Smith - Packaging Division, 14 & 15 Padgets Lane, South Moons Moat, Redditch B98 0RA

Pay: £12.04 per hour during training, Once fully trained on all the machines, it will increase to £14.44 per hour 

Overtime: After 8 hours and Saturdays: £18.06 per hour. 

20% supplement for shift working 

Job Type: Full Time, Temp to Perm Role

Shift: During the training period, you will work a standard 8 am - 4 pm shift. Once fully trained, you must be prepared and flexible to work rotating shifts like 6 am – 2.30 pm, 14:00 to 22:30 Mon - Thurs, Fri 6 -12 (am), 11:30-17:30.

Hours: 40 hours per week (Paid breaks provided)

Experience Required:

  • Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain machinery
  • Ensure smooth production flow and high-quality output
  • Health and safety awareness, IOSH understanding
