Technical Product ManagerLocation - RedhillMain Purpose of Job* This role will suit an experienced Product Manager that has a technical background but has a strong commercial and customer focus. The individual needs to understand the company's technology and be able to translate that into a commercial product offering which is customer, and benefits lead and can be articulated easily to customers as well as internally. * This person will be the Technical Product Champion for all company products and services. To be the internal and external evangelist for product offerings including working with the sales channel throughout the Group and with key customers across our different geographies. * To act as the technical product subject matter expert for Cobham, Iridium, Inmarsat and other manufacturers and satellite operators as required to ensure that the sales teams and other company departments across the Group are kept up to date with all current and future services and market offerings. Key Tasks* Ability to produce or translate technical content into customer/ benefits led output including for bids, white papers, brochures, application notes, user guides, technical service updates and input for press releases etc. (working with the Marketing and Communications Manager who has responsibility for external messaging) * To assist with defining the go-to market strategy, helping the Head of Product and Marketing and Commercial Product Manager to understand the technical product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. * In liaison with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Marketing Executives ensure suitable and up to date marketing and sales collateral, user guides, FAQ's and sales benefits and fact sheets * To produce, in liaison with the Head of Product and Airtime product marketing plans and value-added services to ensure that our client becomes one of the leading providers in our specified markets. * In liaison with the Marketing and Communications Manager and assist in the product marketing launch of new products and services incorporating marketing literature, sales presentations, FAQ's, User Guides, Internal process documents, terms and conditions and sales benefits and fact sheets. * Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers. * Driving a new product or service across the company (including engineering, marketing, logistics and support) through market requirements and positioning.* Product evaluations and working in liaison with Systems Engineering teams to provide technical product expertise in launching new products and services internally and throughout the company. * Provide tech product support in customer meetings, demos, and events * Requirements capture for internal and external software development projects. * Project Management of in-house projects * To conduct internal training course for both sales, support, and other relevant back-office functions. * Technical Service Bulletin distribution in corporation with local management and sales directors in case of translation needs or other local requirements. * Product competitor analysis and comparison. Production of collateral to be used for internal and external purposes. * Experience with managing hardware manufacturers for technology products and determining new product capabilities, also how these integrate with the company products and infrastructure.Experience/Skills/QualificationsMandatory * Technical Product Management experience is essential. * Good knowledge of IP networking * Mobile Satcoms, communications or technology experience. * Excellent written and verbal skills * Used to managing hardware suppliers and assessing new and existing product capabilities * A professional and flexible approach * Requirements capture and application * Project Management experience * Flexible, customer focused and self-motivated and team player * Willingness and ability to learn quickly * Intermediate level or above with Word/PowerPoint/Excel * Must be organised, methodical and a good multi-tasker. * This job will require occasional travel.
