Our long term client based in Redhill are looking for a Project Design Engineer,

As a Project Design Engineer, you will play a critical role within a well-established, fast-paced, and dynamic Engineering team, with a strong emphasis on project documentation, process coordination, and cross-functional project management.

PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS MORE PROJECT MANAGEMENT BASED (PAPERWORK AND PROCESSES) RATHER THAN PRODUCT DESIGN - BUT THERE IS THE NEED FOR PROFICIENCY IN SOLIDWORKS.

Monday to Thursday - 7.30am - 4.30pm, Fridays 7.30am - 1.30pm

Salary £38000 plus £5000 KPI/Performance related Bonus

Your primary responsibilities will involve overseeing and documenting the full lifecycle of customised project deliverables. This includes interpreting and maintaining detailed customer and project documentation, ensuring that all requirements, specifications, and project scopes are accurately captured, tracked, and managed throughout the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate closely with the Sales team to support accurate quoting and scoping processes, ensuring all customer documentation and design requirements are fully understood and integrated into project plans and cost estimates. Additionally, you will work with the production team, while providing regular updates and reporting to your line manager to ensure alignment on project progress, risks, and deliverables.

Your role will focus heavily on project planning, design process oversight, and documentation management, ensuring smooth transitions of new products into production through the application of Project Management principles, including scheduling, task tracking, risk management, and resource allocation. You will ensure all design documentation, change records, and project data are fully maintained and controlled, aligning with good manufacturing practices and internal quality processes.

A key aspect of the role involves coordinating with external suppliers, documenting sourcing decisions, and ensuring all purchased components meet design specifications, timelines, and cost targets.

As a Project Design Engineer, you will manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring all assigned tasks are documented, tracked, and delivered on time and within budget. This role requires a strong combination of engineering knowledge, process documentation skills, and project management capabilities, ensuring all projects are delivered with clear documentation, structured processes, and effective communication across all stakeholders.
