We are recruiting for a Manager to join a dynamic and growing accountancy practice in Redhill. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work on diverse projects with a range of clients, fostering both technical and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

As a Manager, you can expect a well-rounded role that includes:

  • Audit Oversight (60%): Collaborate closely with partners and team members to deliver statutory audits. Oversee the audit process from planning to completion, ensuring compliance deadlines are met and minimising partner review time.

  • Accounts Work (30%): Support client needs through high-quality accounts preparation and related tasks.

  • Advisory Work (10%): Provide tailored advice to clients, working alongside specialist teams where needed.

In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for clients, handling queries and coordinating cross-departmental support for projects in areas like HR, corporate tax, payroll, and legal. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in managing and mentoring junior colleagues, contributing to both their technical and professional development.

Client Portfolio

The team works predominantly with owner-managed businesses (OMBs) and entrepreneurial corporates. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing audits from planning to completion, ensuring quality and compliance.

  • Liaising with overseas entities to address UK setup and compliance needs.

  • Handling work-in-progress, fee agreements, billing, and debt collection.

Team Development

The Manager will actively contribute to the growth and success of the team through:

  • Mentoring and training allocated trainees, acting as a guide in their career progression.

  • Providing constructive feedback, motivation, and support to team members.

  • Developing training materials and delivering presentations on technical topics.

Practice Development

Managers are encouraged to engage in practice development initiatives and contribute to building strong client relationships. Opportunities to assist with client pitches and presentations are also available.

Requirements

Skills and Expertise

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and excellent interpersonal skills. Key requirements include:

  • Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or an international equivalent.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of auditing standards, UK accounting standards, and UK Corporation Tax compliance.

  • Client Focus: Commitment to delivering exceptional client care and service.

  • Team Leadership: Experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to team wellbeing and productivity.

  • Personal Attributes: Organised, motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with strong communication skills and advanced proficiency in Excel and Word.
