About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team in Surrey. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for mechanical projects, supporting tender processes, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. Our client offers Mechanical and Electrical Services covering the London and South of England. Working directly for Clients and Main Contractors, specialising with residential, education, healthcare.This is an office based role and you will have a minimum of 3 years experience working as an Mechanical Estimator on residential projects. Work form home is available and this can be discussed further.Â
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed mechanical project estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Tendering: Analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings to develop competitive bids.
- Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement: Source and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of estimates with project goals.
- Budget Management: Assist in setting project budgets and monitoring adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotations, and project outcomes for performance evaluation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Proven track record as a Mechanical Estimator in construction or related industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other relevant disciplines.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with estimating softwareÂ
