Our client is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to join their Systems Management Team, providing technical support for customer environments, internal corporate IT, and global remote sites. This is a hands-on role, managing servers, networks, security, and virtualization.
IT Systems Engineer - VMWareJob Type: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £40,000 - £50,000
Key Responsibilities* Support & maintain IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, VoIP).* Install, configure & troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, and applications.* Monitor system performance, apply patches, and ensure data backups.* Provide desktop, software & network support to customers and internal users.* Work within cybersecurity policies and manage system security updates.* Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rota for critical IT services.
Essential Skills & Experience3+ years in IT systems and Infrastructure support, preferably in an MSP environment.Experience working on technical projects related to servers, networks, security, and virtualization.Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2019/2022), VMware, and networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, switching).Experience with Active Directory, security protocols, and virtualization.Problem-solving mindset with strong communication skills.
Desirable ExperienceKnowledge of Veeam, PRTG, Endpoint Central.Microsoft certifications & experience in project planning.
