About Us:

Reed Education are super excited to announce the opening of a brand-new SEND Secondary School in Merstham. This school is specially designed for neurodivergent young people aged 11-16.

Your Role:

As our SENDCo, you'll be a key player in shaping the future of our students. Here's what you'll be up to:

  • Keep our special education policy running smoothly.
  • Craft and implement an engaging curriculum tailored to each student's needs.
  • Step in as Deputy Exam Officer, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Help students move on to meaningful post-16 destinations.
  • Coordinate special education needs, deploying staff and resources effectively.
  • Stay in touch with parents, staff, and external agencies to monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School on SEN policy and provision.
  • Lead and manage our therapy services and handle safeguarding duties.

What We're Looking For:

  • QTS or QTLS is essential.
  • Background in creative and structured teaching within relevant key stages or special needs environments.
  • Proven ability to manage significant areas of inclusion and raise standards.
  • Strong skills in managing complex scenarios and resolving conflicts.
  • Excellent at engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Training in special education areas (e.g., Autism, Dyslexia), management/leadership qualifications, NPQSL/H/SENDCo, or willingness to achieve these within 2 years.
