About the Role:

Zen Educate is pleased to partner with a supportive Catholic primary school in Redhill, seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This role involves working across the school, providing enhanced support to children with special educational needs, including but not limited to ADHD, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Down's Syndrome, Dyslexia, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level support to children with various special educational needs.
  • Assist in planning and delivering inclusive and engaging lessons.
  • Cover classes in the absence of the teacher.
  • Lead small group sessions and interventions in reading and writing.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adapting strategies as needed.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to implement individualized education plans.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
