Great opportunity for a n experienced Legal Assistant to offer 1:1 support to the Head of Residential Conveyancing, ensuring efficient and compliant handling of all conveyancing matters.

Fully office based in Tandridge area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 1:1 Support: Offer personalized support to the Fee Earner, assisting with daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • AML Compliance: Ensure adherence to Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients, estate agents, solicitors, and other third parties.
  • Caseload Management: Handle a small caseload, including re-mortgages, transfers of equity, and sales, under supervision.
  • Mortgage Reports: Prepare and review mortgage reports.
  • Post-Exchange Formalities: Conduct searches, draft financial statements, and request lender funds.
  • Completion Execution: Manage the completion process, including transferring funds via BACS/CHAPS, updating account ledgers, and handling post-completion formalities.
  • Stamp Duty Land Tax: Complete and submit Stamp Duty Land Tax Return forms.
  • Land Registry Applications: Prepare and submit Land Registry applications and address any requisitions.
  • CQS Training: Undertake CQS training courses to obtain necessary CPD points.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AML regulations and compliance.
  • Experience in residential conveyancing is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in using conveyancing software and tools.
