As a Project Design Engineer, you will play a critical role within a well-established, dynamic Engineering team, with a strong emphasis on project documentation, process coordination, and cross-functional project management.

Mechanical design, MRP and SolidWorks proficiency are essential.

Job Description:

  • Maintain accurate records, including design specifications, requirements, and change logs, ensuring alignment with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Develop schedules, track milestones, and assign tasks while coordinating cross-functional teams for seamless project execution.
  • Provide regular status updates, manage risks, and facilitate design reviews to keep all stakeholders informed.
  • Work with engineering teams to align designs with requirements, oversee design changes, and collaborate with suppliers for component validation.
  • Assist in cost estimation, track expenditures, and maintain a risk register to proactively address project challenges.
  • Ensure smooth transitions from design to production and contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned.

Person Specification:

  • Prior experience in mechanical design is essential.
  • Strong SolidWorks skills with the ability to navigate MRP systems and product structures.
  • Highly analytical with strong interpersonal abilities and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Clear and concise communicator across all business functions.
  • PC literate with excellent time management, task prioritisation, and adaptability.
  • Hands-on, self-motivated, and capable of adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks within new product design and bespoke projects, with experience in leading teams and recording meeting minutes.
