Band 7 Occupational Therapy Lead (Surgical)

Hours: 37.5 hours (Part-time considered)

Job Purpose

We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapy Lead for the Surgical division. You will provide expert clinical leadership, manage and develop occupational therapy services within surgical wards, and support patients through complex post-operative recovery and rehabilitation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the surgical Occupational Therapy team, ensuring effective delivery of high-quality care.

  • Manage complex surgical patient caseloads, providing specialist assessments and tailored interventions.

  • Foster effective multidisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient outcomes and discharge planning.

  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior occupational therapy staff and students.

  • Contribute to service development, audits, and clinical governance activities.

  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, Trust policies, and clinical guidelines.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy

  • HCPC registration

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

  • Proven experience in staff management and service improvement
