My client, a leading specialist Contractor are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Redhill, Surrey. For this role you will be in the office typically 1 day per week, on site for 3 and have the opportunity to work from home 1 day per week.

Duties:

Growth:

  • Ensure project risk and opportunity is effectively communicated to manage client’s expectation.
  • Build strategic relationships with clients.

Profit:

  • Carry out applications for payment ensuring applications are compliant to the contract requirements and maximise cash flow opportunities.
  • Formalise and manage project CVR’s identifying risk and opportunity.
  • Control costs through effective management of the site spend inclusive of labour, materials and plant.
  • Work with the GEN project lead to ensure project decisions are made with the commercial impact assessed.
  • Value additional works and changes to maximise profitability.
  • Process operative wages against agreed and communicated project rates.
  • Ensure additional works / dayworks are recovered or defect costs reported to site team for future mitigation.
  • Assist in scheduling material and labour values to increase the effectiveness of the material loading and labour valuation on projects.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure a high level of health and safety is upheld wherever possible.
  • Understand an overview of our safe system of work so this can be presented at client meetings when required.

Quality:

  • Support the Company to uphold the highest standards possible.
  • Work to the business documents and BMS, raise improvement ideas when identified.
  • Understand an overview of our quality compliance system so this can be presented at client meetings when required.
  • Assess operative wages ensuring the operations team are satisfied that works are installed compliantly. Ensure defective works are commercially managed.
