Business Development Manager - Surrey - up to 75,000 + Bonus + Benefits - REF 1828


I am currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to work for a leading engineering organisation based in Surrey. Salary up to 75,000 + Bonus + Benefits.


The organisation has been established for over 30 years and are renowned for the best at what they do within the defence and military sector on a global basis. They are a small yet specialist team employing close to 50 people, but turnover is over 20 million annually with that figure set to continue moving upwards based on the ever-increasing demand for their products and systems.


To support the business with the current workload and in line with their expansion plans they have the need to appoint another Business Development on a permanent basis.


In this role as a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for nurturing the existing accounts within the business with a view of further developing them to generate additional revenue as well as going out and hunting for new business to onboard in line with the company strategies and objectives. There will be travel within this role and therefore you must be able to attend meetings in the UK and Europe as and when required, albeit overseas travel is estimated to be quarterly and only for a couple of nights. Given the nature of the role, the suggestion is you will only need to be in the office 1 day p/week, but of course can be in more if you wish.


Ideal Requirements:


- Previous experience in the Defence sector, either working in a Business Development / Sales focused position or having served in the forces between the following ranks (Corporal to major in the Army, Corporal to Squadron Leader in the Air Force or Petty Officer to Lieutenant Commander in the Navy)
- Full UK Driving License
