Purchase Ledger Assistant

I am partnering with a forever growing business, based on the outskirts of Redhill, whose looking for a friendly, experienced Finance Assistant to join their small team. This role will focus on processing payments, managing supplier accounts, and maintaining financial records. It's a great opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys working in a friendly environment where everyone helps each other out!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and scheduling monthly payment runs
  • Processing invoices from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Entering payments into Sage and sending issuing remittance notices
  • Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies
  • Maintaining accurate supplier account records and reconciling balances
  • Managing the purchase ledger inbox and responding to queries
  • Handling supplier rebate reconciliations
  • Ensuring compliance with CIS regulations, including subcontractor verification and tax returns
  • Supporting the wider finance team with general bookkeeping and reconciliation tasks

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in purchase ledger/accounts payable
  • Familiarity with Sage and CIS is beneficial but not required, training will be provided
  • Strong numeracy skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
