Support Worker

Daisy Nook Recruitment is proud to be working alongside a privately run residential home for children (9-16years old), with homes based Surrey and West Sussex. The homes are for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our client is looking for Support Workers for their homein Redhill, Surrey. This is a great career opportunity, joining a growing service right at a pivotal point.

The hourly rate is between £13 - £14, dependent on experience. The hours are 48a week on a 4 day rota basis, weekends will be included. Sleep ins are paid at £40 a night, in addition to your basic wage.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Support Worker

To work withchildrenand young people according to the individuals needs, providing focussed work as planned and directed.

To assist in the co-ordination of activities within the Unit and ensure that they are well managed and produce safe and consistent care.

To be involved in and organise activities which are in the best interests and meet the needs of those looked after.

Training & Development.

Administration and report writing.

Ensure security of the House, including contents, confidential records, cash, keys, furniture and equipment, residents clothing and possessions.

To assist the Manager in attending to the health of thechildren, arranging medical and dental examinations, and maintaining high standards of hygiene within the home.

Participate in training courses as arranged and undertake professional training if the opportunity is offered though secondment.

Observe confidentiality at all times in relation to the Home and its residents, recognising the vulnerability of the residents.

Must have:

Qualifications and Experience Qualified to NVQ Level 3

Knowledge of child care legislation & regulations Human growth and development

Assessment & care planning process Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Fire Regulations

Basis understanding ofChildren's Rights
