Service Care Solutions have a vacancy based in the Surrey area of Reigate for a client who have a vacancy for a Fleet Mechanic to join the team on a Temporary ongoing basis.

Job Purpose: To maintain, repair, and service a variety of vehicles and equipment in the Fleet. The role includes diagnosing faults, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance in line with safety regulations.

Core Responsibilities will include:

  • Inspect, repair and maintain the fleet assets operated by the council to the standard required by the relevant bodies
  • Provide professional advise and guidance to the service users on vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Carry out manual and physically demanding work associated with the repair and maintenance of a municipal fleet
  • Ensure the health and safety of all resources within the post holder's area of responsibility
  • Maintain awareness of policies and procedures which impact on how the service is delivered
  • Prepare and present detailed results from diagnosis equipment
  • Contribute to policy development
  • Work with all stakeholders internal and external


Requirements:

  • Mechanical experience in heavy or light vehicle/plant workshops.
  • Basic fabrication and welding skills.
  • Proficiency with computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience with a mixed fleet of light and heavy vehicles, including specialist or emergency vehicles.
  • Ability to manage work independently.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet high standards.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be flexible to changing work operations

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Motor Vehicle Qualification or equivalent
  • DVSA approved MOT Tester
  • Hold a Category "C" driving license


The candidate will be working a 36-hour week Monday to Friday however there would be a requirement to work on Weekends.
