Job Description:

Join our team as People Advisor! We're looking for someone to provide top-notch, customer-oriented employee relations advice and support. You'll ensure compliance with employment legislation, council policies, and best practices, all while supporting organisational change and improving performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex caseload of employment issues including conduct, capability, attendance, performance management, and grievances.
  • Implement timely, creative solutions to workplace matters.
  • Advise on conduct and capability cases at formal hearings and liaise with legal advisers.
  • Support and coach management to enhance their handling of workplace issues.
  • Contribute to organisational change and service improvement projects.
  • Foster positive relationships with trade unions and professional associations.
  • Participate in policy review and development, ensuring fair application of employment terms.
  • Champion equality and diversity principles.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience in individual and collective trade union consultation.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
