Job Purpose:Â
To assist the Responsible Finance Officer in building effective relationships with the business community throughout Redruth, raising awareness of the activities of Redruth Town Council and securing sponsorship and other support from local businesses to contribute towards those activities. To understand the needs and requirements of local businesses and consider ways in which the services provided by the Town Council to the residents of Redruth could also, directly or indirectly, meet those business needs.Â

- To undertake tasks as required to support the Council’s range of events and festivals as directed.
Duties & Responsibilities:Â
- Work with the Responsible Finance Officer to develop a scheme to encourage local businesses to support the work of the Town Council, whether through financial support or provision of volunteers/services/goods in kind.
- Develop an effective customer relationship management system
- Monitor the success of the scheme and make continual improvements to maximise the value of support from businesses.
- Agree targets for income generation and sponsorship as part of the annual budgetary process.
- Establish links and channels of communication with local businesses, whether directly or via networking or other membership organisations.
- To regularly attend meetings and events organised by local business groups.
- Work with the Communications Manager to promote Town Council success stories and ensure that the local business community is aware of the successes.Â
- Work with the Responsible Finance Officer to ensure all sponsorship monies and donations are properly invoiced and collected.
- Maintain a database of local businesses with details relevant for communication, marketing and sponsorship/support.
- Maintain a database in collaboration with the Communications Manager and Events Co-Ordinator in relation to stall bookings for events.
- Procure external funding through effective bid writing and compilation of successful funding applications.
- Act in a polite, professional, and capable manner at all times, as would be expected of an employee of the Town Council.
- Undertake any other duties required by the Council consistent with the level and scope of the post.Â
