Morva Recruitment is proud to be representing a well-established, forward-thinking engineering business currently undergoing an exciting period of IT transformation. We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Systems Administrator to join their small but highly capable internal IT team.

Location: Mid Cornwall - Hybrid opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line support for all hardware, software, and telephony systems

  • Administer and maintain Windows and Linux systems, including Windows Server 20162022

  • Manage network infrastructure including switches and firewalls

  • Configure and manage virtualization using Hyper-V

  • Implement and maintain data storage and retention policies in line with legal requirements

  • Manage user licensing and evaluate third-party software for cost and security efficiency

  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of IT projects such as system migrations and upgrades

  • Maintain IT security standards across the organisation

  • Travel to other company offices as required

About You:

  • Hold a relevant IT qualification (e.g., apprenticeship, degree, or equivalent experience)

  • Strong experience in the administration and operation of IT services

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft environments including Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server, and Office 365

  • Understanding of IT security and network technologies

  • Proactive, well-organised, and confident communicating with technical and non-technical users

  • Able to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Microsoft certifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Veeam, and MS Dynamics 365

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a structured approach to troubleshooting

  • Experience working across multiple sites

  • Clear communicator with the ability to explain technical solutions in simple terms
