Senior Finance Assistant

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 (DOE).

Location: Redruth.

Schedule: Flexible working days/ hours available.

Reports to: Group Finance Director.

Position Overview:

The role as Senior Finance Assistant within our client's company play's a vital role in providing efficient and effective support to the Finance department. The successful candidate for the position of Senior Finance Assistant will be working onsite in the finance department but will have the option of a flexible working schedule in both days and hours.

Key Activities -

Maintaining the Purchase ledger:

  • Supplier Account Maintenance
  • Invoice inputting & Coding
  • Payment allocation
  • Statement checking
  • Aiding in the weekly payment runs

Maintaining Sales Ledger:

  • Customer Account Maintenance
  • Invoice runs
  • Payment allocation
  • Credit Control

Bank account Reconciliations:

  • Current account
  • Factoring account Prep
  • Company Credit cards
  • Card payment account

General Responsibilities:

  • Aid in the communication between the finance function and other areas of the business, E.g. Running simple reports providing basic Ad hoc cost analysis.
  • To have an awareness and understanding of the business values and objectives.
  • To always behave with a high degree of professional integrity.
  • To always work in accordance with the Company's Dignity and Diversity policy.
  • To understand and demonstrate your own responsibility for Health and Safety at Work (Act 1974) and be familiar with the Company policy, rules, and regulations in the regard.
  • To understand and demonstrate your own responsibility with regards Environmental Awareness and to be familiar with the Company policy, rules, and regulations in the regard.
  • To understand and demonstrate your own responsibility for Food Safety and be familiar with the Company policy, rules, and regulations in the regard.
  • As required, to undertake projects or activities not specifically outlined above.

Key Attributes:

  • Computer literate in Microsoft office, email, and Xero. Experience of Factoring accounts would be beneficial.
  • Experience of pricing management is desirable but not essential.
  • Highly organised, meticulous attention to detail, great teamwork, and a friendly nature.
  • Demonstrates behaviours that support the Company values - Quality, Passion, Customer First, Honest, Friendly.
  • Hard working.
