Plant & Asset Manager

Location: Mid Cornwall

We are seeking an experienced Plant & Asset Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy Plant Department. This role is essential in managing our assets, liaising with key suppliers and internal teams, and ensuring the smooth running of operations.

The Role

This position is perfect for someone with a passion for vehicles and plant equipment, looking to join a leading groundworks contractor in the South West. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a large fleet and plant inventory while supporting operational efficiency across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all assets, including 800+ items of plant, 6 HGVs, 200 vans, and small tools.

  • Maintain certification records and ensure compliance.

  • Liaise with the workshop team (Workshop Manager, Mobile Fitters, and Workshop Fitters).

  • Oversee the procurement and allocation of newly purchased plant equipment.

  • Arrange signwriting and branding for company vehicles and machinery.

  • Maintain GPS tracking system records and monitor asset locations.

  • Track and record plant movement across sites.

  • Liaise with suppliers and handle procurement processes.

  • Attend and contribute to weekly meetings.

  • Produce monthly reports on asset performance and usage.

  • Organise testing and compliance checks for lifting equipment.

  • Manage invoice queries and approvals.

  • Oversee the smooth running of the Plant Office.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised individual with previous experience in a plant, parts, or vehicle management role. The ability to lead a team, liaise with multiple departments, and keep operations running efficiently is essential.

Required Experience & Skills:

? Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
? Experience in a managerial role.
? Forward-thinking and problem-solving mindset.
