Accountant

  • Location: Reigate, Surrey- 100% office based.
  • Job Type: Full-time, 6-month FTC with potential for an extension or possibly perm.

Join a leading global company as an Accountant, initially for a 6-month contract. This role reports into the Financial Controller and requires someone with either AAT qualified, part-qualified, or qualified.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure accurate and timely execution, preparation, and submission of all month-end and year-end financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including supporting documentation, and proactively resolve any reconciliation issues.
  • Handle intercompany entries and reconciliations.
  • Complete month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Prepare and submit the VAT Return.
  • Provide analytical information for the P&L and Balance Sheet, explaining variations and relevant transactions.
  • Maintain control of fixed assets with supporting documentation and register monthly depreciation.
  • Conduct Foreign Exchange analysis, entries, and reconciliations.
  • Manage loan financing entries and reconciliations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets.
  • Support audit queries, payroll journals, and payment of liabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technically proficient with formulas in Google Sheets and Excel.
  • Part or Fully qualified accountant (or Aat qualified).
  • Agility to adapt to change and understand business needs.
  • Ability to solve problems and willingness to accept responsibility.
  • Hands-on with day-to-day operations.
  • Deadline-oriented with the ability to adhere to time constraints.
  • Ability to multi-task, managing changing and competing priorities and absorbing new information rapidly to address issues.
