This role has a starting salary of £45,680 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week. This is a 6-month fixed term contract/secondment opportunity with the possibility of extension.

About the RoleAs an organisation we are focussed on becoming a Digital Council and so as a Business Analyst, you will work across the Council's Digital, Data and Tech Portfolio as part of a Digital Design squad, focussing on delivering specialised and personalised digital outcomes.

The Business Analyst role is instrumental in identifying the true nature of problems to be resolved, to provide recommendations for delivering an effective digital outcomes and improve efficiencies.

Engaging with stakeholders across Surrey County Council and our partners, you will use your excellent interpersonal skills to quickly build relationships. You will possess strong communication skills required to understand, document and articulate problems, processes or business requirements and reach a common understanding.

Tasks will vary according to each project and could include problem definition, business process/data modelling, requirements definition, data analysis, business process improvement or business acceptance testing. This team works in an agile way, focussing on new and innovative technology, so this is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to strengthen their skillset.Shortlisting CriteriaTo be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst working on digital initiatives, collaborating with business users to understand and deliver seamless customer-centric digital solutions
  • Ability to understand, document, and improve business processes, with a particular focus on enhancing user experiences
  • Experience of eliciting, analysing, and documenting business requirements, applying both traditional and agile methodologies
  • Analytical thinker with a passion for identifying customer pain points and opportunities, driving digital innovation, and ensuring best practices and high-quality documentation
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, working closely with digital teams, and developers to ensure clear and collaborative approaches to delivering impactful digital services
