We are seeking a dedicated Building Surveyor to join our Clients Property and Maintenance team. This role involves undertaking building surveys, managing development projects, and ensuring our Clients properties meet environmental and sustainability targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building surveying, project management, and a commitment to creating efficient and sustainable living spaces.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct building surveys for both new and existing properties to inform decisions, appraisals, and maintenance plans.
  • Project manage development, extension, and refurbishment projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Liaise with architects, contractors, and suppliers, providing technical guidance and managing the tender process.
  • Prepare specifications and schedules of works for tender, and manage projects from progress to completion.
  • Offer defect diagnosis and undertake a range of property surveys.
  • Support the organisation in meeting its environmental and sustainability goals, including net zero targets for housing stock.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying or a related field.
  • Experience in managing building maintenance and capital building work contracts.
  • Proficient in stock condition surveys and property maintenance (planned/cyclical/reactive).
  • Comprehensive understanding of statutory and legal regulations including planning legislation, Health and Safety, and Fire Safety.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to negotiate and achieve value for money.
  • Excellent design sense to create modern, accessible, and comfortable homes.
  • Financial awareness with the ability to manage budgets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems.
  • Car driver with access to own vehicle.
