We are currently recruiting for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a leading Facilities Management company on a permanent basis. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a professional with MRICS, MCIOB, or MCABE membership, looking to take on a pivotal role in managing a range of high-profile projects.

As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will provide expert guidance on both the strategic and technical aspects of building surveying, with a particular focus on overseeing capital works for local authorities, from project inception through to successful completion.

Role Overview: In this key position, you will take full responsibility for managing a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring their seamless delivery while maintaining high standards of quality, cost control, and client satisfaction. You will be instrumental in managing both the technical and contractual elements of the projects, engaging with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage local authority capital works projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with regulations, timelines, and budgets.
  • Provide expert building surveying advice, including condition surveys, defect diagnosis, and site inspections.
  • Prepare detailed specifications, technical reports, and contract documentation for various projects.
  • Manage project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations and successful project delivery.
  • Conduct risk assessments, health & safety assessments, and ensure adherence to building regulations and best practices.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address any project issues and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Oversee project progress, monitor budgets, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
About You:
  • Chartered status with a professional body such as MRICS, MCIOB, or MCABE is essential.
  • Extensive experience in building surveying with a strong background in project management and delivery of capital works.
  • Solid technical knowledge of building construction, surveying methodologies, and legal regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects in the public sector or with local authorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on client and stakeholder management.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to managing project risks.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards.
