Reed HR are currently recruiting for a HR Officer to join our clients friendly HR department in Reigate, Surrey on a full-time permanent basis.

  • Hours: 36 per week Monday to Friday (8am - 4pm, 9am - 5pm)
  • Based in Reigate office / Working from home
  • Reporting into: HR Business Manager

The role:

To assist in providing operational support, advice and guidance to managers and staff on a full range of HR matters through the employee lifecycle including attendance management, local terms and conditions of employment, recruitment, selection, starters, on-boarding, learning and development, employee relations, and exit processes. The post-holder will work flexibly as part of a small team, covering absence, leave, fluctuating workloads as required.

Our client is happy to fund CIPD studies after the probationary period (6 months) if this is of interest.

Our client is open to someone with previous HR or Recruitment experience. 

Our client would ideally like someone who has previously used iTrent (highly advantageous)

Ideally you will be a driver with a car as some travel to local sites will be occasionally required.

Responsibilities -

  • Provide advice, support and assistance to managers and staff to ensure consistent application and understanding of HR policies and processes, and interpretation and application of terms and conditions of employment
  • To manage the processes and administration connected to the employee lifecycle (covering recruitment processes, new stater set up/contractual administration, on-boarding (including learning and development administration), employee relations, terms and conditions processing, administering amendments to contract, processing leavers)
  • To support the HR Advisors and HR Business Managers in the delivery of HR objectives and KPI’s as part of the Organisation’s OD/HR Strategy
  • To be the first point of contact for HR enquiries, providing support where possible and appropriate, or signposting enquiries to the appropriate person
  • To provide information and advice about the correct application of HR policies and processes within the remit of experience. Escalate to HR Advisors and/or HR Business Managers as appropriate
  • To provide support and advice to people managers on routine casework, recruitment and training activity
  • Populate and maintain on-line employee records of HR and payroll systems to meet statutory and local reporting requirements
  • Liaise with Payroll and Systems Officers to ensure an integrated and efficient HR/Payroll process.
  • Act as HR representative, during local consultations for organisational change initiatives, under the guidance of the HR Business Manager/HR Advisor
  • Provide professional and administrative support in formal processes such as investigations, hearings, etc
  • Provide administrative support for financial transactions within the team, for example managing processes around raising purchase orders and processing invoices, liaising with Finance colleagues as appropriate
  • Support the HR team with ad hoc projects, as appropriate
  • Support the Head of OD & HR with administrative tasks, as appropriate
  • Foster positive working relationships across the organisation
