Hybrid working is in play for the successful IT Project Engineer. You will be based at my client's Reigate office with some local travel, and you will have the opportunity to work from home for 2-3 days a week.

Job Summary:
The Google Workspace Specialist is responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of a Google Workspace environment. This includes provisioning new accounts, managing users and groups, configuring core services, and ensuring security and compliance. The specialist will also provide support and training to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and advise businesses and schools on how to maximise the use of Google Workspace.
IT Project Engineer - Google Workspace Specialist - Responsibilities
- Provision new Google Workspace accounts and verify domains.
- Create users and groups, and assign licenses.
- Assign and manage subscriptions.
- Create policies appropriate for businesses and schools.
- Enroll and manage Chromebook devices.
- Set up and administer Core Google Workspace apps.
- Troubleshoot issues with using Google Workspace products.
- Migrate from Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace to Google Workspace.
- Manage single-sign-on relationships and 3rd party user provisioning.
- Use GAM, or GAMADV-XTD3 to manage the Workspace environment.
- Set up Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS) and troubleshoot it.
- Advise on the selection of and deploy relevant 3rd-party applications that integrate with Google Workspace.
- Provide advice to businesses on how to maximize the use of Google Workspace and deliver efficiencies and cost-savings.
- Provide advice to Educators and Schools/Colleges on how Google Workspace can promote enhanced learning outcomes and more positive staff well-being and experience.
- Manage user accounts, domains, and the directory.
- Configure Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Meet, and Chat.
- Manage data governance and compliance using Google Vault and DLP rules.
- Implement security policies and access controls.
- Manage mobile devices and Chrome browsers.
- Troubleshoot common issues related to Google Workspace.
- Manage the Group’s internal Google Workspace tenant.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold, or be willing to work towards, the Associate Google Workspace Administrator certification.
- Minimum 6 months of Google Workspace Super Admin experience
- Hands-on experience with Business Plus edition / Education Fundamentals and knowledge of Enterprise/Plus Edition features and functionality.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in provisioning Google Workspace accounts and verifying domains.
- Ability to create and manage users and groups, and assign licenses.
- Experience in setting up and administering Core Google Workspace apps.
- Knowledge of managing single-sign-on relationships and 3rd party user provisioning.
- Familiarity with GAM, or GAMADV-XTD3 for managing the Workspace environment.
- Understanding of how to set up Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS) and troubleshoot it.
- Competence in configuring MX records for email routing.
- Experience with configuring spam, phishing, and malware settings.
- Knowledge of configuring default sharing options for Google Drive and Docs.
- Ability to enforce strong password policies and two-step verification rules.
Desirable Skills:
- Subject-matter expertise and ability to advise on multiple projects and train other engineers.
- Ability to provide advice to businesses and educators on maximizing the use of Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of relevant 3rd-party applications that integrate with Google Workspace.
