We are excited to be hiring a new Risk Intelligence Officer within Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. The team is based in Woodhatch, Reigate but we promote agile working as a team, and we split our time between working from home and working in the office or other council premises. We offer compressed hours and the ability to use?flexi hours for this role.

About the TeamThe team focuses on gathering intelligence, forming insights and presenting data concerning the highest risk premises, sites and most vulnerable people in Surrey. The information is processed and provided in user friendly formats to operational firefighters during incidents, to keep them safe and to aid their understanding of the different environments they may be working in.

About the RoleAs a Risk Intelligence Officer you will be responsible for management, assessment and processing of life-critical risk information. Knowledge and experience in corporate Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) is essential for this role. GIS and CAD will form a majority of the work involving digitising building plans and displaying risk information, creating maps of various hazards, as well as updating online data sharing and GIS platforms.

Based within the Business Intelligence Team, you will report to the Senior Risk Information Officer and will play an important and active role in community safety and will be expected to contribute positively and professionally to this aim in occasionally challenging or time-critical situations to maintain the safety of fire-fighters and members of the community.
