Position: CATIA/ Solidworks Mechanical Design Engineer
Location of work: Work remotely with occasional site visits

The role: A renowned electronics company specializing in innovative electronic systems, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will focus on the design and development of PCB enclosures and fixture design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design enclosures for electronic devices and overlays, ensuring aesthetics and functionality.
  • Design fixtures to assemble the product together.
  • Utilize CATIA or SolidWorks for detailed design and modelling (experience in both preferred).
  • Work with sheet metal and plastic injection moulding processes
  • Develop designs compliant with IEC 61010 standards
  • Address EMC mitigation within enclosure designs
  • Create PCB shapes, perform thermal analysis, and accommodate passive cooling for components heating to 60-80C.


Requirements:

  • Proficiency in CATIA and/or SolidWorks (experience with both highly advantageous).
  • Strong background in enclosure design for electronic systems.
  • Experience designing for sheet metal and plastic injection moulding.
  • Familiarity with standards and processes for EMC mitigation and IEC 61010 compliance
  • Knowledge of thermal analysis and passive cooling techniques (desirable, not essential)
