4Recruitment Services are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join the Changing Futures team at Surrey County Council.  The post will support the operational front line element of the Changing Futures programme by providing trauma informed clinical oversight of the Bridge the Gap specialist outreach service for adults experiencing multiple disadvantage.  Bridge the Gap is an alliance of 12 VCSE organisations providing this specialist service across the county to improve the lives of residents experiencing multiple disadvantage including concurrent and compounding complexities such as homelessness, substance use, domestic abuse, criminal justice involvement and mental health challenges.  The clinical psychologist will be required to provide inspirational leadership and champion the principles and values of the Changing Futures programme including working in partnership with our voluntary and community partners, the Changing Futures Lived Experience and Recovery Community and the Changing Futures strategic leads and other key partners.  The role holder must be available to work on a Monday and Tuesday to attend mandatory virtual meetings including the Referral, review and allocations meeting on a Monday afternoon and be available on a Tuesday for their own clinical supervision provided by the Changing Future consultant clinical psychologist.  The rest of the week the role holder is able to work flexibly to a hybrid model with an expectation to visit Bridge the Gap partners in the community on occasions.  The ability to travel is essential.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 
  • Provision and oversight of group and 1:1 clinical supervision and reflective practice to staff from across a broad range of voluntary sector services as part of Bridge the Gap. Building staff resilience and promote psychological wellbeing for staff working directly with people presenting with multiple disadvantage. 
  • Work alongside and mentor outreach workers to instigate ‘team around me’ meetings, providing trauma informed multi agency support for clients experiencing multiple disadvantage when required.
  • Work with the outreach workers to support their clients to create and embed safety plans and to use the Bridge the Gap ‘My Story, Strength and Hope’ psychological formulation model when seeking reasonable adjustments from other services.
  • Attend and input at the Bridge the Gap Referral, review and allocations meeting weekly on a Monday afternoon.
  • Attend clinical and professional supervision for themselves with the Changing Futures Consultant clinical psychologist on a Tuesday.
  • Support the dissemination of the Changing Futures learning and community of practise across the wider system.
  • Attendance at various forums to support the overall strategic ambitions of the Surrey Changing Futures programme by committing to drive lasting system-change, with long-term sustainable changes to benefit people experiencing multiple disadvantage and services supporting them and the strategic objectives to deliver system change at individual, service and system level
  ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
  • BPS-accredited psychology degree, followed by a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) accredited by the BPS
  • Registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Enhanced DBS
