We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator (counterbalance /High reach) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to load and unload materials, ensuring that all shipping and receiving tasks are completed accurately. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely and accurate handling of goods.
- Maintain an organised warehouse environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Utilise warehouse management systems for tracking inventory and managing stock levels.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Execute heavy lifting tasks as required, handling materials safely and efficiently.
- Assist with materials handling, ensuring proper storage and retrieval of items within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency and workflow.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Basic maths skills for inventory management and record keeping.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to safety practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
