Titan are currently working with a Freight Forwarder based in the Renfrew area who are looking for a Freight Operatorto join their team.


You will be required to deal with all aspects of both import and export, air and sea freight within the department and also provide support to regional branches when required.


Role responsibilities -
  • Deal with all aspects of international and domestic freight movements (import/export by Air/Ocean, shipment and consolidation) in support of the import and export team
  • Act as a conduit between customers and suppliers to ensure all needs are met within the specified delivery time
  • Create customs declarations in line with HMRC and current legislation ensuring compliance in the process
  • Ensure payments are collected prior to movement of goods
  • Liaise with overseas offices for shipment movements, taking responsibility for monitoring progress and keeping the customer advised of the status
  • Work with the Operations Manager on a daily basis to ensure all airfreight jobs are moving at a profit unless previously agreed
  • Support the Operations Manager to lead continuous improvement within the department to improve process, efficiency, and productivity to benefit department and business
  • Liaise with customers both on the telephone and potentially face-to-face with regard to collections/deliveries of International Freight movements
  • Ensure Best in Class customer service is delivered at all times
  • Liaise with the customer to determine other opportunities for new lanes/activity
  • Listen to customers if they have issues and either handling the problem effectively, or escalating if required and ensuring all issues are followed up

Requirements -
  • Hands-on current operational experience in a multi modalenvironment
  • Commercial awareness is essential in this role
  • Financial acumen and understanding of all financial activity
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a timely and accurate manner.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel) to intermediate level.
  • Commercially focused
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Previous experience within a similar environment is essential

The company offers a great working environment, working hours are Monday to Friday, offering a salary up to £32,000
