FINTEC recruit is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an international marine manufacturing client in the Glasgow region.
This is a permanent position with a negotiable salary based on experience, along with benefits like a pension scheme and life assurance.
Candidates should have a minimum of several years of experience in mechanical design, particularly with product lifecycle management systems.
Key responsibilities include providing engineering design solutions, supporting client requests, and creating bills of materials.
Applicants must possess a mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience, along with knowledge of design standards and manufacturing techniques.

FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our international marine manufacturing client based in the Glasgow region. This is a permanent role, salary negotiable by experience plus pension scheme, life assurance cover etc. You will be experience with product lifecycle management system for generating engineering packages

Responsibilities:

Provide engineering design solutions, working as a technical lead within the engineering team
Supporting client requests for upgrades and for new product design
Input into new systems and products for engineering design
Create bill of materials and source suitable components and materials when required

Skills and Experience required for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role:

- Proven mechanical design skills, able to generate design calculation
- Excellent Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and knowledge of gas and fluid systems.
- Knowledge of Pressure Vessel design skills using PD5500, ASME VIII, EN 13445
- Knowledge of design standards and of industry guidelines and relevant codes, standards, regulations and procedures (Lloyds, DNV, ABS, DEFSTAN, MIL-STD).
- Knowledge of testing methods and of engineering analysis programs (ANSYS Workbench, MathCAD, Finglow.).
- Experience in using Solidworks or similar software.
- Previous experience in a Mechanical Engineer or Product Engineer role.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages.
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
