MIG Welder

A1 Jobs are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and be proficient in the use of various hand and power tools. This role involves fabricating and assembling metal components to meet precise specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the welding process.

Duties

Operate MIG welding equipment to fabricate and assemble metal structures and components.
Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine specifications for welding tasks.
Utilise basic maths skills to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements.
Perform quality checks on completed welds to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, reporting any faults or issues as necessary.
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining a safe working environment.
Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing metal parts.
Engage in stick welding as required for specific projects or repairs.

Requirements

Proven experience in MIG welding; additional skills in stick welding are advantageous.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues related to welding equipment.
Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes is preferred.
Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to assemble components accurately according to specifications.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
