About the Role:We’re seeking an experienced Operations Deputy Head to lead our clients insurance brokerage accounting team to ensure they are delivering a top-notch service to their business and stakeholders. This role is central to maintaining a robust control environment in line with FCA CASS regulations. You'll manage team performance and oversee critical processes involving debtors, creditors, unallocated cash, uncollected brokerage, and funded amounts, working with internal and external teams to enhance efficiency through process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Leadership: Assist the IBA Operations Head and senior managers in achieving departmental objectives.
  • Debt Collection & Settlement: Ensure timely collection of debts and settlement of amounts owed to clients, insurers, and third parties.
  • Premium Finance Process: Oversee premium finance operations, minimizing funding delays by collaborating with providers and the business.
  • Control & Process Oversight: Regularly assess and improve controls and processes to identify weaknesses and implement enhancements.
  • Management Information (MI): Generate insightful MI with commentary to detect control gaps and boost business performance.
  • CASS & Statutory Audits: Support CASS and statutory audits, meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • CASS Breach Management: Log CASS breaches, identify root causes, and collaborate with colleagues on resolutions and future prevention.
  • Process Improvement: Work with IBA teams to optimize cash flow and streamline IBA-related processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Team Development: Provide training and growth opportunities for team members.
  • Project Support: Lead or contribute to projects, including transitioning activities into the team.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Broking Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with Acturis, Websure, SSP, Epic, and TAM.
  • Accounting Qualification: Essential to ensure compliance and financial oversight.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven people management experience.
  • FCA CASS Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FCA CASS regulation and best practices.
  • MS Office Proficiency: Advanced MS Excel skills are required; strong skills in other MS Office applications.
  • Problem Solving & Initiative: Self-starter who can enhance processes with a resilient, can-do attitude and high attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and respond positively to evolving business needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Able to work independently and as part of a team.
