Team LeaderJob Purpose:The purpose of this role is to effectively manage and develop the team on a day-to-day basis providing support to IBA Manager in delivering key performance indicators and an outstanding service to our clients and other stakeholders.   This role is instrumental in protecting our clients’ money under the CASS 5 rules whilst providing an efficient and compliant service to our stakeholders.This role profile is applicable to the following areas:
  • Cash allocation
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Insurer & Bordereaux Reconciliation
  • Client, Insurer & Introducer Payments
  • Client & Insurer Money Calculations
Key Stakeholders:
  • IBA Team members
  • IBA Management Team
  • Business Colleagues including Account Executives & Handlers
  • Management Accounts & Finance Business Partners
  • Internal & External Auditors
  • Clients
  • Third parties including Insurers, Underwriters, Brokers, Finance Providers & Banking Partners
Responsibilities:
  • Management of own and team workload effectively prioritising to exceed targets and meet quality standards and departmental objectives
  • Meet regularly with team members to discuss performance and provide input into the annual performance review cycle
  • Monitor quality standards within the team taking appropriate action to ensure expected standards are met
  • Build and maintain excellent professional relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Support and coach other members of the IBA team to achieve departmental objectives
  • Identify developmental needs and provide coaching to members of the IBA team ensuring all team members complete mandatory training as required
  • Support team members to investigate and resolve queries in a timely and accurate manner
  • Comply and assist with the development of Group and departmental policies & procedures
  • Identify, record and investigate root causes of breaches of company policy & CASS rules
  • Participate in ad hoc tasks and projects as required
  • Anticipate issues and allocate resources to deliver continuous improvement & lean solutions
  • Actively identify and pursue opportunities for self-development and complete all mandatory training in required timeframe
  • Support audit and other information requests as required
  • Act as a role model by meeting the expected behaviour standards for the role
Experience:
  •  GCSE Mathematics & English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • AAT Accountancy qualification or CII Certificate would be desirable 
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience working in a financial services environment
  • Experience of providing coaching and mentoring to others
  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and insurer accounting
  • Ability to influence team members, peers & stakeholders to achieve desires outcomes 
  • Ability to delegate effectively 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Proficient in using MS Office including Excel & Word 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage conflicting responsibilities to achieve targets  
  • Working knowledge of IBA accounting systems would be desirable
