- Financial management: Managing the financial aspects of the firm, including budgeting, financial reporting, and billing processes. You will work closely with the firms’ accountants and our accounts team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and monitor the firm’s financial health. Knowledge and experience of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and AML legislation are essential.
- Human Resources: Overseeing the recruitment and performance evaluation processes for all staff. This includes both fee earners and support staff as well as overseeing training and professional development and ensuring all records are kept up to date.
- Operations: Handling the day-to-day operational aspects of the firm, such as office management and technology, ensuring the firm has the necessary resources and equipment to support it’s day to day legal work.
- Client relations: Maintaining and enhancing client relationships. Where necessary, managing client communication and addressing concerns.
- Compliance: Making sure the firm complies with all relevant laws, regulations and ethical standards. This includes assisting with ensuring compliance with codes of conduct and professional rules.
- Strategic planning: Joining the firms’ partners and being part of the management team to develop and implement strategic plans for the practice. You will be required to attend at and participate in regular meetings of the partners and annual strategy meetings and produce all statistical information in respect of the same. This can include helping to identify opportunities for growth and developing the practice.
- Technology and Information Management: Overseeing the use of technology and software within the firm to streamline legal work, improve efficiency and enhance client service. Responsible for data management and information security.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks to the firm including cybersecurity threats.
- Administrative support: overseeing administrative staff in their day to day support of fee earners.
- Marketing and Business Development: Involved in marketing and business development to attract new clients and grow the firm.
