Our client, a distinguished player in the construction industry, is currently recruiting an HR Manager for a contract position based in East Aberthaw, Rhoose. This is a full-time office role with an immediate start and extends until 14th February 2025. Given the site's location, a driving capability is essential as it is not accessible via public transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee talent management processes and initiatives
- Handle disciplinaries and ensure adherence to HR processes
- Engage with employees and leverage interpersonal skills to facilitate change
- Support and manage managers who may not be fully versed in HR processes
- Travel occasionally to Turnstead and Dunbar for short visits, with expenses covered
- Work closely with union representatives, with support from the Senior HR Manager
- Challenge and push back when necessary, representing HR effectively
- Integrate seamlessly into the construction site environment
Job Requirements:
- Experience in HR within a heavy industry or manufacturing environment
- Strong talent management skills
- Proficiency in handling disciplinaries and HR processes
- Effective interpersonal skills, especially in managing change
- Experience working with unionised environments
- Ability to take initiative and manage HR functions independently
- Must be able to read between the lines and engage effectively in discussions
- Willingness to be present on-site and easily integrate with the team
