Description

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Senior Management Accountant will be primarily responsible for ensuring that balance sheet reconciliations are carried out on a timely and accurate basis, any non-clearing items are investigated, cleared, and reported. The production of the monthly management accounts, and for the management and assistance in the development of the Finance Accounting team.

Specific Responsibilities:

Balance Sheet Reconciliations and month end duties:

- Perform a number of balance sheet reconciliations on any given day in order to work towards the team target of ensuring that all items can be clearly identified and explained with zero items pending over 90 days, except where genuine business rationale exists

- Demonstrate effective balance sheet control through monthly review of reconciliations and provision of aged KPIs to Finance Controller

- Oversee preparation of the month end reconciliation file and ensure all reconciliations / monthly tasks are signed off by the end of WD4

- Oversee month end duties such as the balance sheet tick back, updating of the fixed asset register, clearing of suspense, balance sheet reconciliation reporting.

- Supervision of reconciliations and assistance to the finance team in clearing entries

- Work closely with the Finance Controller at month end to close off the p&l within 4 days. This will entail overseeing the analysis of key p&l line items such as; line-by-line income, termination income, secondary rental income, other income, and overheads.

- Production of the monthly accounts spreadsheets and posting of all journals within the month end deadline.

Other functions:

- Involvement in systems maintenance and development

- Deliver on allocated projects, and assist team members in delivering on their projects

- Mentor and assess performance of staff

- Cover for the Financial Controller and Accounts staff as required

- Manage day to day finance queries and take responsibility for the general finance email box

Role based in Richmond, Greater London.

Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA) Accountancy Qualification with specific accounting knowledge
  • Experience of running month end process, and delivering p&l and balance sheet to tight deadlines
  • Good understanding of the general ledger and reconciliations
  • People management experience desireable, and the ability to influence, negotiate, and work well in a team environment
  • Good time management, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise working well under pressure
  • Problem solver and an interest in improving efficiencies
  • Good Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Always act with integrity and embrace the philosophy of treating customers fairly

Job Offer

Salary £60,000 - £70,000 its a broad range as the client is considering varying levels of experince
