An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Howden Rural team in the North of England, focusing on insurances for Farms and Estates.

As an Account Executive you'll be integral to the growth of the business by delivering quality advice, recommendations and solutions and building strong lasting relationships both externally and internally. You'll be responsible for developing a book of business in the region, by managing existing clients and attracting new. Excellent customer service skills are key throughout, from initial prospecting and binding cover, through to claims support and future renewals.

You will have a flexible hybrid working model with a mixture of both office and home working and will ideally be located in the North of England.

Overview:

  • To develop and maintain relationships with existing clients and attract new clients from the marketplace.
  • To support the Division in the achievement of sales targets.
  • To actively cross-sell products from other Divisions.
  • Establish and manage client renewal strategy in accordance with the Division's procedures/aims to maximise renewal success.
  • Responsibility to ensure that clients are correctly and adequately insured for all of their insurance exposures and that correct advice is given.
  • To liaise with Client Managers and Claims Handlers to complete all supporting documentation to maintain and achieve client service standards.
  • To maintain professional competence by complying at all times with the Training and Competence procedures of the firm.

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Insurance or financial services experience is desirable, but not essential. A background in agricultural / rural business is most important.
  • A proven track record of sales.
  • Good understanding of Corporate Governance, financial awareness and how a business works.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral, written and in person communication skills.
  • Networking and rapport building.
  • Analytical skills, being able to gather, analyse and present information.
  • Being able to work as part of a team and individually, time management being key.
  • Initiative, being resourceful and competitive in your approach.

Qualifications:

  • Further or higher education qualifications required.
  • CII qualifications desirable, or willingness to work towards.
