VisionFR is delighted to be assisting a successful and growing creative agency to find a bright and ambitious Finance Manager who will work directly with the part time Finance Director.

The Client is looking for a Paprika software user who is happy taking sole responsibility of the day to day finance function from posting invoices, managing the projects through to producing full management accountants with variance analysis & Cashflow forecasts. This is a lovely SME agency of around 25 staff, there is a great opportunity for this role to grow and develop over time.

Key Responsibilities for the Finance Manager Role:

  • Produce the full monthly management accounts pack with full analysis of spend & Revenue and variance analysis against Budget. Recommending and posting journals as necessary.
  • Being the lead person for revenue analysis and WIP, liaising with the account directors on a regular basis to discuss client spend, recovery levels and any client issues. Support the FD with revenue forecasting and any other adhoc reports needed.
  • Being responsible for writing off WIP in line with Revenue and reporting on under/ over utilisations and unrecovered WIP balances.
  • Being the go to person on Paprika ensuring new starters understand how to use it to track jobs, post time sheets etc.
  • Accurate Cashflow forecasting, updating MD on a weekly basis
  • Manage Purchase and Sales Ledger ( Including posting, reconciling paying of suppliers and Billing , Credit control and Debtor Reconciliations)
  • Tracking of all POs received from clients and also generated by the team in relation to all purchases, and chasing outstanding invoice payments and POs
  • Partner with counterparts outside of finance to enhance their understanding of financial reports and to deepen the finance team’s insight into their departments.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting entries in the company’s General Ledger within the required timelines.
  • Post and reconcile the back accounts on a daily basis
  • Assist with external audits and year-end closing.
  • Main point of contact with HMRC, overseeing all tax and regulatory requirements including but not limited to PAYE. NI, VAT, and Corp tax
  • Timesheet oversight, monitoring timesheet information and ensuring entry into job costing system in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain a sound system of controls designed to mitigate risk
  • Undertaking of other ad-hoc projects as required by senior staff

Essential skills and experience for Finance Manager Role:

  • ACCA,CIMA or ACA Part Qual, Qualified or proven relevant Experience equating to QBE.
  • Having prepared full management accounts for a min of 3 years
  • Previous revenue/ WIP experience
  • Will have worked in a similar creative agency environment in a Senior Management accountant or FM role
  • Calm, assured, able to meet the changing needs of the office and team
  • Proactive in managing people, processes and situations
  • Organised with excellent time management and ability to prioritise appropriately
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent experience of working with accounting software Paprika within the last 18 months
  • Good standard of English, both verbal and written
  • A good communicator - keeping directors informed and sharing relevant updates across the agency in a timely manner
